Havnt tried it but anything with the words video in the title need USB2.0 and just throws a fit.
WTR to the software its note hugely resource intensive but because it uses USB that hits the CPU as well.

I have that exact USB interface, bought for the exact same purpose (once I get my cameras) it seems to do the job nicely but gets a little laggy with all 4 inputs running (goes down to about 5FPS).
But that's not too much of a problem.

One thing you could use for under your sliders is cloth mouse mats, its easy to cut and replace.

I would caution against HID bulb systems for 2 reasons. 1) HID (High Intensity Discharge) uses essentially a spark to produce light this gives off UV which the headlight glass blocks, although UV light is dependant on there being mercury vapour present in the gas mix. 2) To produce the spark you nee...

Kentsin, I really would use a wired remote. On my 300d the IR remote is hit and miss unless you are basically looking straight down the lens.
