Re: Scanner speed - what is reasonable?

After making this post, I realized there are already some answers to this question in the software section. Why don't we try to keep this hardware focused?

Scanner speed - what is reasonable?

Not feeling my creative juices flowing as freely as it seems everyone else here, I shamelessly built Daniel's new standard scanner. When I ordered my cameras I had to send one back for being the wrong model and unsupported by SDM. As it stands, I've made 2 complete book scans using the single camera...

Re: Monson's Sticks: Cheap Single Camera Rig w/ Remote Shutt

I love it! It doesn't look like the speed is very limited, even though you are only using one camera. It basically cuts the cost in half.

Re: The New "Standard Scanner"

:) Dan, your edit "DON'T BUY THIS..." made me laugh. No worries, I just was trying to inject a little sarcasm. For anyone looking into the y-splitter, there doesn't seem to be an easier no-soldier solution besides buying converters and regular usb cables. I can attest for the standard scan...

Re: The New "Standard Scanner"

Just so everyone knows, the y-cable splitter listed above will not work with the Ricoh CA-1. It is made to charge a cell phone and a bluetooth headset. On another note, if anyone needs an extra y-splitter for charging a motorola phone and a bluetooth headset, let me know because I have have an extra.

Re: Scan Tailor

Tulon, many thanks for taking the time to answer what must have been a very simple question for you. Putting the files in a local directory fixed it. When they were on a network share directory they would not show up.

Re: Scan Tailor

OK, I'm going to go ahead and post my stupid question. I'm trying to use ST, but when I go to create a new project I can't seem to select any images. When I browse to a directory containing JPEG files, aren't they supposed to show up in the boxes labeled "Files in Project" or "Files N...

Re: auto glass?

I haven't had much time to share it here, but I've been working on a glassless portable design. StevePoling suggested some things that got me fired up about the idea. And the regularity in your case is definitely something to exploit... just can't wait to see what you come up with. Speaking of glas...

Re: Electronics/Handle packages for sale.

I'm working on one for user ThatTallGuy, I'll make one for you, too. Can't wait to see your build thread. :) For my first build I'm going to try to take advantage of some bequeathed hardware from my father. He has this old camera stand. I don't know exactly even what to call it. My mom calls it &qu...

Re: Electronics/Handle packages for sale.

Dan, if you have enough people together again, I would love to buy a switch from you. The electronic stuff is the scariest part of the build for me.
