The Noisebridge Digital Archivists Group Thread

Built a scanner? Started to build a scanner? Record your progress here. Doesn't need to be a whole scanner - triggers and other parts are fine. Commercial scanners are fine too.

The Noisebridge Digital Archivists Group Thread

Post by kallampero »

Hi DIYBS!

We are a growing group of SF Bay Area people affiliated with the Mission-based hackerspace, Noisebridge. In March of 2013, we purchased a Reetz Kit Scanner (http://diybookscanner.myshopify.com/pro ... canner-kit), which is currently undergoing some fine tuning by our friends at the Internet Archive. We expect to have it back sometime later this week. Once we do, we'll be posting here in detail, documenting what works and what doesn't, with the end goal of developing clear hardware, software and usage protocols for hackerspace scanners worldwide.

In the meantime, you can check out the wiki -- which, at the time of writing, is painfully under populated with information -- and subscribe to the list:

Stay tuned...

Update:

We're working out a weekly meeting time at Noisebridge. Tentatively set for Thursdays at 6:30PM. Will post back here to confirm.
