Automatic/Semi-automatic page turner concept

So the idea is to use a roller of suction tape (see link below) to grab on to the page, and swing it across while the roller is spinning clockwise to release the page. The tape does not use adhesive and is supposedly reusable.

Would that material work on something semi-porous like paper?
