For now: here are the files for the scanner I want to built next week.
Features (from up to down):
- smaller feet for the lamp-socket
- big backpane for raspberry-power-whatever (still not ready)
- slot on the front for a SainSmart 7" so I don't need a full monitor anymore
- Slots for the glass plates
- a second pair of cradle plates without mounting-holes so it looks nicer when painted
- mounts for bearings on the cradle (including holders for cradle bungees I added)
- mounts for bearings on the cradle socket (before I nailed them, now i can "stick" up to 12 on it - though i think 3 on each side should be sufficent)
- added wooden bits for nearly every part so one could easily stick it together. this should keep everything in position and perhaps decreases the glueing effort

How did the build go?
Re: MDF-Built Hackerspace-Scanner
It actually went very well. Sorry I was offline for so long. If you're still interested in my laser-cutting-edition, I'd start a new thread with detailed images a.s.o
