What camera would you recommend for a diy bookscanner project matching the following requierements:
- min. 14MP true resolution
- can be triggered remotely via cable or IR
- max. 300 Euro per camera (e.g. via second hand on ebay)
Additionally it would be nice if I can trigger it remotely also via PC and gphoto2
The only camera I found so far is the Canon G10, which seems to match all points including the gphoto2 point.
However perhaps there are better choices especially ones which make good pictures even if the lighting isn't perfect.

I had to look up the term "true resolution". I don't have any camera recommendations in that high price range though, but I'm sure others here have.

The Canon 500D or 550D should be under 300€ limit.
