Google's infrared camera?

Google's infrared camera?

In the article linked below, the following sentence appears:
In a matter of months, [Google] had invented an ingenious scanning device that used a stereoscopic infrared camera to correct for the bowing of pages that occurs when a book is opened.
Does anyone have any information about this camera?

Yeah, it's outlined in their patents, which have been discussed here. I can do a much longer discussion of their technology when I finish some of the more pressing things I have to do here. Google's work was optimized for raw speed. Our future technology will do the same thing (avoiding their patented tech, of course).
