Everything camera related. Includes triggers, batteries, power supplies, flatbeds and sheet-feeding scanners, too.

Samsung DV300F - Built in WiFi & 16MP

Post by Bookstacks »

I recently lost a camera and so I've started to look for a replacement.

Does anyone have experience with the Samsung DV300F? Would it make a decent camera for use as a book scanner? The part of the manual related to WiFi indicates a lot of options including easy transfer to devices based on Android. I recently set up an Android computer-on-a-stick and believe it could handle the computer side of the scanner.

best wishes,
Chris

I just got the Nikon Coolpix S800c which has android on the camera itself and I'm working on a custom program to implement lots of trigger options (like motion detection and light level detection), but it is definitely more expensive than the Samsung DV300F. I've got one app mostly working that adds a "share to" action to upload images to a php script on a web server, the custom camera app is more complicated and I've yet to get it to actually take a high resolution picture, so there is a definite android learning curve :-).

Read about the apps here:
