Hey markvdb
I'm very sorry to hear that, hope you could get back to testing soon.
I've been searching and comparing several DSLRs and finally I thought I will use a pair of Nikon D3300. They doesn't have such a nice SDK like Canon cameras or support on main software at the moment (it's a very new model), but they have an incredible quality and crispy images (you can check this review from Ken Rockwell http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d3300.htm). Also, for the moment I would like to keep things stupid simple, so the less hardware/software involved, the less work I've to do (merge two folder of photos from each camera and build a trigger with wire and a button it's trivial).
Finally, I'm designing my own structure in alluminium to handle the cameras, books and all the stuff. If everything goes well, I'll be saving a lot of money, time and space. I'll post more information here as soon as I advance with the prototype.

Re: Cameras for a business project
Nikon's USB API has always been less interesting than Canon's. If you want to keep a future USB triggering path open, I would strongly recommend you to go with Canon. If not, it's a matter of personal taste really...kamina wrote: I've been searching and comparing several DSLRs and finally I thought I will use a pair of Nikon D3300. Re: Cameras for a business project
I have a pair of Nikon D5200 that I'm interested in testing as well, please let me know how it goes...
Re: Cameras for a business project
I don't have access to Nikon cameras, but D5200 is supported by libgphoto2, Image Capture, Liveview, Configuration should work.daniel_reetz wrote:I have a pair of Nikon D5200 that I'm interested in testing as well, please let me know how it goes...

Of course, I don't know when I will start with the project for the moment, but I will be posting here all my impressions.daniel_reetz wrote:I have a pair of Nikon D5200 that I'm interested in testing as well, please let me know how it goes...

Re: Cameras for a business project
tried pair of D5200 Nikons w/DigicamControl---works fine, building another semi-auto scanner to improve speed to 1800pph
Currently using 2 Canon Rebel t2i at 1200pph using Breeze DSLR remote pro multi

Re: Cameras for a business project
I'm curious about feasibility of integrate DSLRs and spreads, has someone tested that?
D5200 and Rebel T2i are supported by libgphoto, then in theory it can be integrated to spreads. Thanks

Re: Cameras for a business project
There is some basic code available already. That is what I wanted to test with the latest spreads code when my EOS camera got stolen.nafraf wrote:I'm curious about feasibility of integrate DSLRs and spreads, has someone tested that?
