I use the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 (64GB) as my main e-reader. This is primarily because I don't OCR or do any other conversion of my books other than binding the JPGs into a PDF. The super-huge files that come out of this process are absolutely GORGEOUS on this high-resolution, bright, color-correct screen:
