I bought a nice book scanner called BlackIron-B in 2011. It was designed by Jared French, and sold to me by a third party. A glass platen was destroyed in shipping (through the plastic ones are fine), and then a power surge killed both cameras.
I never quite got it working reliably, and although I still wish had a a working a book scanner, I clearly have not made fixing this one up a priority. So, maybe you will.
It needs cameras, glass platens if that's what you're into, and probably has some other little problems that I have forgotten about. Last I used it, the monitors and lights worked.
I spent >$700 for this puppy (including shipping). Selling it for $50, but you gotta pick it up in SW Portland OR.
This is a project, and definitely sold as is.
