Master Index of All Scanner Builds.

Built a scanner? Started to build a scanner? Record your progress here. Doesn't need to be a whole scanner - triggers and other parts are fine. Commercial scanners are fine too.

Master Index of All Scanner Builds.

Post by daniel_reetz »

This thread is an index of every build thread in the forum. Scanners do not need to be "completed" to be included in this index. Some builds predate the forum, like mine and Rob's -- not sure that he ever had a build thread. I will find a way to post such scanners, maybe in a thread of their own. There is no intentional order to this list, but if you have an idea of how to order it, let me know.

This list is incomplete. If you know a build thread that isn't here, please post it below.
Over time I will create a sensible thumbnail for each project.

I have a real picture of my book scanner now, if you wanted to put that one up.

Dan,
can you alter the post above to show an image of my scanner and add a link to the "Nominal" build thread? Then I'll delete this note...

I started work on this, but rather than update it here, I thought I'd make things a bit more public. I'll eventually copy/paste the news back here:

http://www.diybookscanner.org/news/?p=52
http://www.diybookscanner.org/news/?p=50

Let me know if I missed anyone. It's becoming increasingly difficult to keep this all in the narrow confines of my pointy head.

Slowly trying to get on top of this. I just read through every single topic from the 233 topics in Hardware and tagged them up on Del.icio.us:

http://delicious.com/danreetz/DIYBookScanner

The build threads are all appropriately tagged, though unfortunately I have 20 or 30 more in my inbox which were not shared here on the forum. If we haven't gone well over a hundred builds yet, we will in the next few weeks.

Hey, guys! Sorry for the late reply, but I wanted to chime in and say how much I love this compilation of DIY Book Scanners. Being a complete novice in the realm of scanner building, I find the majority (if not all) of these scanners to be extremely impressive. I've been wanting to get into building one myself; but I wasn't really sure how to get started. Hopefully I'm able to get some tips from the site. Your scanners all seem so complex. Anyway, I hope to meet you all soon. Can't wait to see what I can learn! Of course, if I have trouble, I may just attempt to find a book scanner on my own. Anyone been to hhgregg for a scanner? Thanks, guys!!! =D
