Hi!
Is there any specific reason you're using plexiglass instead of normal glass?
I am from Fresno USA and it seems that using normal glass is much cheaper?

Re: Why using plexiglass?
I used plexiglass on my scanners because it was readily available and easy to work with. I could cut and drill it myself, with no special tooling.
Also there is the question as to what you mean by 'normal glass'. For example I definitely recommend against the glass you find in picture frames. It will break far too easily. You really need something shatterproof, which will cost more and you will have to have it cut and drilled by a professional.
